DALLAS INTERNATIONAL GIRLS CUP PARTNERED WITH THE UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION FOR THEIR NOTHING BUT N

Last month the Dallas International Girls Cup, along with their organizers, Premier International Tours and the Dallas Texans, partnered with the United Nations Association for their Nothing But Nets Campaign. This campaign raises money to send mosquito nets to Africa for malaria eradication. These organizations pledged money for every goal scored, to be matched from local supporters. As a result of this we were able to put together enough money to buy between 100-120 nets which will save 100-120 lives!

During the Opening Ceremony Anya Cooper, a board member of the United Nations Association, did a question and answer interview with our MC. Anya discussed the purpose of the United Nations and how it fits in with sports by working with the United Nations Foundation, Sports Illustrated and sports writer Rick Reilly creating Nothing But Nets, allowing a way for athletes to help the UN fight malaria.
